Show Review : Shinedown brings loads of pyro for an evening of rock at Allstate Arena

Normally a band tours an album after its release but with Shinedowns ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’ tour, the band is simply touring off the self titled single. With the album not seemingly being released till next year Shinedown is just celebrating the album happening by bringing an evening of rock with a newer act and a veteran act of the genre across the US.

Bush, led by the iconic Gavin Rossdale, delivered a no-nonsense set packed with hits and undeniable energy. The band, which his celebrating 3+ decades now in rock, proved why their career is still going stronger than ever here in the states.

The setlist was a perfect blend of the band’s classics and newer tracks. The crowd was electric, singing along to every word, while Rossdale effortlessly navigated through the highs and lows of Bush’s catalog. A bonus shoutout needs to be said for drummer Nik Hughes who put 200% energy into his performance making it exhausting just watching him.

Visually, Shinedown’s stage setup was massive, with towering screens, fiery pyrotechnics, and a series of impressive light displays that shows why the band is known for having over the top productions. Their runway broke off into different paths spanning 3/4th of the arena floor giving both fans in the 100s and fans on the floor the chance to be up close and personal with the band as they moved throughout it.

Despite the grandeur of the production, it was the band’s performance that truly stole the show. There was a sense of passion in every note from the band that poured into the performance. Smith’s stage presence was magnetic, interacting with fans and encouraging them to sing their hearts out which only fueled the band even more.

Country rocker Morgan Wade kicked off the evening with her blend of country fused rock giving fans an almost 4 hour show as they cheered throughout never losing energy. If your a fan of any of these acts this is proving to be one of the hottest arena rock tours this summer.
