After six years, Phoebe Bridgers is finally back with Lost Weekend, her first solo album since 2020’s Punisher. And yes, she’s still making music that makes you want to stare dramatically out a car window. Is it sad? Obviously. Weird? A little. Worth the wait? Absolutely.
The album moves through grief, love, isolation, fame and figuring out what comes next. There are plenty of classic Phoebe moments, but Lost Weekend also plays around with distorted guitars, dreamy production and some seriously atmospheric moments. It feels less like Punisher 2 and more like Bridgers figuring out where she wants to go next.
The Track List
1. The Outside
A strange, atmospheric opener that immediately tells you this isn’t going to be Punisher all over again.
2. Lost Boys
Catchy and jangly, this single is probably the closest thing here to an instant fan favorite. Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus also make an appearance, because apparently boygenius can’t stay away. (And we don’t want them to.)
3. Kill Me
Dark, honest and very Phoebe. The kind of song that sounds sad until you realize you’re smiling.
4. The Governor’s Waltz
Surreal, funny and slightly unsettling. Bridgers gets weird with it, and we’re better for it.
5. Bobby
One of the album’s biggest standouts. Dreamy guitars, messy feelings and a chorus you’ll probably be singing way too soon.
6. Lost Weekend
The title track is basically the album’s mission statement: reckless, romantic and a little bit of a disaster.
7. Haunted
Spooky Phoebe has entered the chat. It’s moody, atmospheric and exactly what you’d expect from a song called “Haunted.”
8. Panorama
Short and hazy, this one feels more like a little emotional snapshot than a traditional song.
9. Still Standing
One of the album’s emotional highlights. It’s about surviving, but without turning that idea into some cheesy inspirational anthem.
10. Liberty Tree
A little warmer and more hopeful. A nice reminder that this album isn’t completely committed to destroying your mood.
11. Never Going Back!
At under two minutes, this one flies by, but there’s a lot packed into it. Consider it a tiny emotional grenade.
12. Other Plans
Quiet, intimate and heartbreaking in that very specific Phoebe Bridgers way.
13. Lost Parade
A 55-second interlude. Blink and you’ll miss it. Honestly, that’s kind of the point.
14. I Can’t Wait
Longing, regret and complicated feelings. Basically, Phoebe doing what Phoebe does best.
15. As Above
The big late-album moment. Huge, emotional and one of the strongest vocal performances on the record.
16. Lost Weekend (Reprise)
A soft landing after a pretty emotional ride. It brings the album full circle without tying everything up too neatly. Also, Phoebe’s dog, Maxine, is credited with vocals on this track. Listen closely and you’ll hear her barking in the soft silences.
Lost Weekend isn’t trying to recreate the magic of Punisher, and that’s probably its biggest strength. It is stranger and more experimental, but there’s plenty here for longtime fans to sink their teeth into. Six years is a long time to wait for an album, but Lost Weekend makes a pretty convincing case that Phoebe Bridgers was worth the wait.
