Puscifer brought their “The Normal Isn’t” tour to the Chicago Theatre on Saturday night, and it felt like one of those shows where everything just clicked. If you went in hoping to hear the new album (dropped Feb. 6), you got exactly that.

One of the best parts of the night was the no-phones rule. In a time where everyone is usually watching concerts through a screen, it was honestly nice to just be in it—no distractions, just the music and the performance.

That’s really where Puscifer stands out. It’s not just a band playing songs—it’s a full performance. Maynard James Keenan and Carina Round had these small, almost understated moments of choreography that added a lot without feeling over the top. It made certain songs hit a little harder live.

Everyone was on point, but drummer Gunnar Olsen really stood out. His playing was super tight and kind of held everything together—it felt like the engine behind the whole set.

The highlight of the night was easily the closer, “A Public Stoning.” Opener Dave Hill came back out and joined the band, and they wrapped things up with a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, throwing in a “Crazy Train” guitar solo. It was a fun, slightly unexpected way to end the night and sent everyone out on a high note.
