Growing horror streaming service Screambox has released its list of winter releases set for the service. The original films will join the likes of major hits and new releases including the Terrifier films, John Carpenter Live: Halloween From Los Angeles, and more.
Beyond its leading slate of horror films and series available on demand, SCREAMBOX is unleashing a killer lineup of special new programming just in time for the holidays. This includes:
- Meat Kills (premiered November 11) – To prove herself worthy of joining ‘Animal Army’ a radical activist group led by the fearless Nasha, Mirthe secretly films the horrors of a local pig farm. Prepared to free the pigs, the group return the next day to find empty cages.
- Killer Rental (November 18) – A group of friends rent a vacation home in Joshua Tree, unaware of hidden cameras recording their every move, as they are stalked by The Carpenter! Practical FX created by Emmy winning James MacKinnon excel in this found footage slasher.
- From Darkness (December 2) – Park manager Angelica enlists her ex-boyfriend Viktor to search for a woman who has gone missing in a dangerous nature reserve. As the search party heads deeper into the forest, Viktor begins to question whether they are alone in the mines.
- Old Time Radio: A Chronicle of Creativity (December 12) – In A Chronicle of Creativity, Academy Award-winning FX artist Joel Harlow reveals the artistry and teamwork behind the Old Time Radio anthology—comedically haunting short films made with passion, practical effects, and old school movie magic.
- New Fears Eve (December 16) – Every December 31st, Leslie, Brian, and Moses approach the New Year’s party with dread, but this year their reluctance is about to collide with a nightmare no one could have predicted.
- In the Name of God (December 23) – Theodor is a priest in a small village who becomes the talk of the town after his wife miraculously survives a fatal illness thanks to his prayers. When the miracle is questioned, he must prove to the village that it was the power of God that saved her.
- True Fear (December 30) – When two female best friends hosting an online horror-themed history show together decide to make an episode about the site of a 17th century witch hunt, they find themselves seemingly terrorized by evil supernatural forces.
- Self-Help (January 6) – A young woman infiltrates a dangerous self-actualization community after her mother becomes entangled with its enigmatic leader.
- Savage Flowers (January 20) – Set in an infected world where the children are carriers – a young orphan finds sanctuary in a ramshackle foster home but she soon discovers it’s not the world outside that she should fear. It’s the girls she’s inside with.
- Pig Hill (March 10) – In Director Kevin Lewis’ followup to Willy’s Wonderland, Carrie has been fascinated by the local legend of the pig people of Pig Hill, revolting creatures who breed and cause havoc in the area. As the tenth woman goes missing, Carrie can’t stop thinking that there could be more to these stories.
- The Dæmon (March 17) – Haunted by the aftermath of his father’s suicide, Tom abandons his wife and seeks refuge at the lakeside cottage where his father met his tragic end. There, his tormented memories from childhood resurface, all intricately connected to an ancient, mystifying force lurking beneath the lake’s depths, driving Tom inexorably towards madness.
- DRAGN (to be announced) – During a team-building retreat in a remote forest, a group of colleagues unwittingly becomes the prey of a rogue AI-driven drone.
“Over the past few months, we have been aggressively collecting eye-catching indies and festival favorites to pack our release schedule with a robust lineup,” said Cineverse’s Tony Wash, who was recently named Director of Programming and Original Productions for SCREAMBOX. “I am excited for our subscribers to see everything we have coming their way.”
