Brantley Gilbert and friends take over UPMC Event Center

Brantley Gilbert, the powerhouse country-rock artist, brought his electrifying Off the Rails Tour to Pittsburgh’s UPMC Center in Moon Township on April 13, 2024.  Coming on the heels of a tour with Nickelback, Brantley proved he can hold his own with any crowd and from the moment he stepped onto the stage, it was clear that this was more than just a concert – it was an experience.

Starting with a dark stage and lights emulating a train, the locomotive whistle filled the air, as the stage filled with smoke, and Gilbert jogged on stage with Off the Rails, and the night was off and running.  Gilbert took the crowd through some of his hits like Smal Town Throwdown and Kick It in the Sticks, as well as some brand-new songs like Dirty Money.

Gilbert showed his ability to cover different music genres, doing covers of fellow country artists like Jason Aldean’s My Kind of Party, all the way up to Kenny Wayne Sheppard’s Blue on Black.   Soulful renditions of One Hell of an Amen offset the louder anthems that were punctuated with pyrotechnics.  Cover songs of classics like A Country Boy Can Survive and an ode to the recently deceased Toby Keith with Courtesy of the Red White and Blue brought the house down.

Opening acts Struggle Jennings and Demun Jones joined Gilbert for Dirty South and Me and My House, much to the delight of the arena house, after warming the crowd up with their own sets earlier in the evening.

As the final notes of Read Me My Rights rang out, Brantley Gilbert took a moment to thank the crowd for their unwavering support and energy throughout the night. It was clear that the room had a camaraderie and unbreakable spirit.
