Japanese Horror Inspired black metal duo Saidan release new song ‘Kara no Bara’

Saidan, the Japanese Horror Inspired black metal two piece, have released a new song and video titled ‘Kara No Bara’. The band mixes black metal with intertwined moments of something more melodic than most would expect in the genre.

This comes from the bands upcoming album ‘FANGDRILLER: Scars Beneath Memory’s Wrist,’ which will be released on June 19 via Avantgarde Music!

SAIDAN vocalist and instrumentalist Splatterpvnk comments, “‘Kara no Bara,’ which translates to ‘Empty Rose,’ is a song that highlights Junko, the main character of our latest album ‘FANGDRILLER,’ by shining a spotlight on her struggles with isolation before her unfortunate encounter with a cult named Ethereal Blood, while also serving as a metaphorical analysis of my own struggles with loneliness and depression.”

While lyrically dealing with topics of depression, heartbreak, loss, and loneliness, the album is musically inspired by the lo-fi nature of classic Visual Kei and gothic black metal. Saidan strives to deliver an album that sounds nostalgic for an era of music that doesn’t exist. Blistering solos, deranged vocals, anthemic-riffage, and diabolical drumming are slammed together with doses of modern breakcore and wrapped in a black metal bow, garnering a feeling of familiarity while offering something that’s boldly unique.
