Foo Fighters fire drummer Josh Freese for no reason, Shane Hawkins rumored to join band

2 years after being hired, after the death of Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters drummer Josh Freese announced he’d been fired from the band with no reason given. Adding in fuel to this story is the heavy rumor that Taylors son Shane Hawkins will be the bands new drummer.

Freese, who has drummer in various ways for everyone from The Vandals, Devo, A Perfect Circle, Suicidal Tendencies, Kelly Clarkson, and more, stated the band told him they were going in another direction with no reason at all. You can find his statement below.

Adding fuel to the story though shortly after was drummer Stan Bicknell (Natasha Bedingfields band) posted to a now deleted Instagram story stating that Shane Hawkins was the bands new drummer and that he shouldn’t be announcing it.

With Foo Fighters still in drama relating to Dave Grolh and having just announced their first show back for later this year this is drama that the band could do without still.
