The historic Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois, hosted many denim vests covered with every band logo you can imagine. Wrapping up the two-night residency, the “1984 to Headless” North American Tour delivered a loud, theatrical, and unforgettable night of timeless riffs, courtesy of co-headliners W.A.S.P. and KK’s Priest.

Kicking off the evening was legendary former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing and his band, KK’s Priest, proving exactly why they are a vital force in modern traditional metal. Fronted by the soaring, piercing vocal cords of Tim “Ripper” Owens, the band commanded the stage with unrelenting energy.

Downing, clad in his signature leather, traded ferocious solos with guitarist A.J. Mills. The setlist was a pristine balance of original material from their recent albums and classic, deep-cut Judas Priest tracks. Hearing Downing rip through iconic dual-guitar harmonies in an intimate venue like the Arcada felt like a time machine back to the golden era of British heavy metal. The crowd cheered louder than the amps as Owens effortlessly hit stratospheric high notes, setting a the bar high for the rest of the night.

When it was time for W.A.S.P. to claim the stage, the atmosphere turned dark, dramatic, and intensely nostalgic. Celebrating their seminal early catalog, frontman Blackie Lawless led the band through a celebratory retrospective focused entirely on the hits from their first four albums: W.A.S.P., The Last Command, Inside the Electric Circus, and The Headless Children.

The stage production brought those classic album covers vividly to life. Towering video screens and classic shock-rock imagery accompanied the band’s auditory crunch. At 72 years old, Blackie Lawless remains a mesmerizing focal point—his raw, gravelly sneer sounding remarkably well-preserved despite decades of playing shows.

From the opening notes of their most rebellious anthems to the fist-pumping choruses of “Blind in Texas” and “I Wanna Be Somebody,” the energy inside the Arcada Theatre was electric. The crowd, sporting decades-old tour shirts, matched Lawless word-for-word. W.A.S.P. proved that their music hasn’t lost an ounce of its dangerous edge or hook-heavy theatricality.

The pairing of W.A.S.P. and KK’s Priest is easily one of the most metal packages of 2026. By the time the final feedback faded out at the 100 year old venue, fans poured out into the St. Charles streets completely satisfied living the night as if it was 1984 all over again.
