Terri Clark – 30 Years and going strong!

Terri Clark grew up in a family already in country music. Her grandparents were both Canadian country musicians, and her mother was a huge country music fan. Terri began playing guitar as a teen and moved to Nashville after high school with the dream of making it big in country music.

She paid her dues playing gigs in bars and ended up with a job at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville. She sharpened her chops, made industry connections, and after years of hustle, signed with Mercury Records in 1995.

Her second CD was more of the same, starting with a country cover of Linda Ronstadt’s Poor, Poor Pitiful Me, followed by Emotional Girl, established her sound of combining equal parts swagger, storytelling, and singing anthems to independent women.  It set her apart from the crop of new artists in that time period.

The next CD, How I Feel, brought more hits like Now That I Found You, Everytime I Cry, and You’re Easy on the Eyes Yet to come were hits like I Just Want to Be Mad, I Wanna Do It All and She Didn’t Have Time

During this time, Terri Clark also established herself as a force to be reckoned with on the touring circuit. Among her major label releases, and half a dozen or so independent full releases, (totaling sales of more than 5 million units), is a live CD that showcases why she is still on the road after 30 years in the business.

For the rest of the year, her tour schedule is testimony to a career well deserved by an 8-time fan -voted Entertainer of the year for the Canadian Country Music Awards, and the only female Canadian member of the Grand Ole Opry.  Check her out at http://www.terriclark.com or one of these upcoming tour dates:
