The Tortuga Music Festival is one of the premier destination festivals in the country. Located on the sands of Fort Lauderdale Beach, it mixes country, rock, and roots music along with the oceanfront views. As the weekend wound down on the 2024 edition of the festival, the energy was still high by the time Koe Wetzel hit the stage on Sunday, April 7.
The beach was an unforgettable backdrop as the sun began to set, with a golden glow over the festival grounds. The crowd who had stayed on the end near this stage all day, were ready and rowdy to go as Koe Wetzel’s blend of country, rock, and rebellious outlaw attitude took the stage.
Wetzel hit the stage just before 7:30 PM, launching straight into Creeps, and following up with Fuss and Fight. With his usual swagger, along with raw vocals, Wetzel took the crows through a setlist of fan favorites and a few deep cuts. Cracking jokes between songs, raising beers to the crowd, and letting the audience lead sing-alongs had him connecting with the fans immediately despite the massive festival crowd.
Wetzel’s performance at Tortuga Festival 2024 had everything fans have come to love about him. From honesty, rowdy energy, and a refusal to be boxed into any one genre, Wetzel solidified his status that he’s carving out his own lane in modern country music—one rowdy anthem at a time.
