We’ve reached part 3 and its not going any better.
Set a year after part 2, the Abaddon is set to be torn down before billionaire Russell Wynn buys the hotel for his popular interactive show, Insomnia. Why is a billionaire buying a hotel in the middle of no where for a popular show, never even thought about here though. He invites a film crew to follow along for every step of the way too because that went so well there last time.
While the acting here is leagues above part 2, which was a low bar, it isn’t much better. Dialog here is stiff and heartless or vastly over acted to almost a comical point. We get flashbacks to moments from the first 2 films but because the film throws so many characters at us each film its easy to forget who is who.
While the film does do one or two scenes right and the ending scene is so over the top is becomes a joke, the series continues to just throw everything at the wall story wise. Nothing becomes clear only giving you more and more random open ended questions here. Also the clowns are now a staple point of the films but have almost no relation to anything story wise.
I feel this series is a prime example of attempting too much. Instead of a coherent story we get way too much in every direction and too many boring plot points attempting to tie anything together.
