Day two of Lollapalooza was sure to draw huge crowds as Olivia Rodrigo proved why she is the next stadium act in the genre. On her festival run that sees her finish supporting her record breaking ‘Guts’ record, Olivia brought it all for the Lolla crowd.
Showing how she so effortless mixes pop music with tastes of rock and pop punk, Olivia blasted through the hits as well as giving Chicago a surprise guest. The guest, which shes done every festival date lately including bringing out members of The Cure and Talking Heads on other dates, saw her bring out Weezer for two songs. Weezer, as shes spoken about, was her first concert she ever attended.
Other memorable acts of the day included T-Pain who drew a big crowd with a stage design that was all video game inspired. He went through the hits and covers flowing together into medleys at time as him and his crew of back up dancers blazed through the hot mid day heat.
Japanese punk rock band Otoboke Beaver was the surprise hit though. The group while looking innocent blasted right into a set of fast punk music that had the crowd instantly hooked and curious passerbys drawn in.
Rock and alternative shined though with the likes of Foster The People, Djo, Wallows, and Bleachers all drawing huge crowds for their sets though. Djo had a headliner worthy set which was followed straight into Wallows across the field giving fans no time to stop singing as one set went into the other.
