Lollapalooza kicked off for the party of the summer in Grant Park seeing 115,000 fans enter the park for 4 days seeing acts of every genre.

The day kicked off in a fast fashion with viral nu metal act Silly Goose who brought the energy from the start. With their blend of rock and metal the act quickly drew a crowd due to their viral moments which see the band performing at gas stations, outside venues and fests, and really bringing the DIY spirit with them.

If you wanted to spin kick though you got the chance later on with beatdown hardcore act Sunami. With possibly the most violent pits of the entire weekend they got the pleasure of being the only true hardcore band on the bill for the weekend.

The most energetic award though belonged to rockers Cage The Elephant bringing the most memorable set of the weekend possibly. With nonstop movement and energy from the band along with tons of pyro they channeled their inner Rolling Stones and brought a massive crowd proving to a fest like this that rock isn’t dead.

Making history though was Luke Combs as he became the festivals first country headliner. While the lineup is never filled with much country to begin with Combs brought his all to Lolla and the fans showed up ready proving why he was worthy of breaking that record.

The day also saw the likes of South Korean rock group Xdinary Heroes close out a stage, two piece rock group Girl Tones, Azzeca, Rat Boys, and more. You can find all our photo galleries being updated below.
