Film Review : Home Sweet Home Rebirth (2025)

Apparently based off a foreign horror game Home Sweet Home : Rebirth is a convulated mess that might not even make sense to fans of the game.

We follow an American cop on vacation with his family in Thailand who after stopping a public shooting gets thrusted into a battle alongside a monk when the gates of hell seemingly open. The story here is a mess and gets pushed heavily in moments of exposition by our monk character and it becomes too much based on the fact that so much of it doesn’t make sense.

At just over 90 minutes here this feels 3 times longer than that. The acting and effects here can go from shockingly decent to downright awful at times and the pacing becomes a mess. While some our of creatures look fine and we start to get some decent action horror moments its just as quickly stopped to give us heavy dialog following. This doesn’t even get into the extremely lackluster story parts we get when we follow our main characters wife traverse through zombies that aren’t actually zombies.

In short it feels like this is way too long even at 90 minutes and thats because it feels like several movies thrown in one. A bad zombie one, a possession demon hunting one, and then our story goes to make almost no sense. I can’t see fans of the game liking it and even more so non fans will just be lost and bored.
