Shudder brings another original release out and this time attempts to be a different spin on exorcism movies but instead just ends up a boring mess.
The film here does try to do things different. Our characters here escaped a cult growing up and are lead back into a mix of events. We get a what if it wasn’t a demon, what if it was something on the other end of things here. While the film presents ideas that could work what we end up with though is boring and overly expositional at times to the point of boredom.
Sadly not even the big pivotal exorcism scene is fun. The effects here look unreasonably bad to where its not even so bad its good. Its just bad.
If you want a very religious based exorcist movie maybe you’ll like this. Its just sadly a boring horror film that ends up being everything it tries to not be and has some truly terrible effects and CGI.
