Cherub Brings High-Energy Performance to Chicago’s Chop Shop

Published

By Kyle Muha

Cherub lit up Chicago on September 11th with a high-energy performance and a brand-new album, playing to a sold-out crowd at the Chop Shop.

It took only a few songs for the crowd to show they were more than ready to embrace Cherub’s latest material live. Midway through the set, Jordan Kelley paused to reflect on how much it meant to both him and bandmate Jason Huber that fans already knew the words to every track from the new record.

Of all the songs from Everything Changes and That’s OK, the highlight of the night was undeniably their performance of “Motion.” The track is classic Cherub — catchy, danceable, and impossible not to move to — and the crowd responded in kind.

Of course, longtime fans didn’t leave empty-handed. Cherub wrapped up the night with their beloved hit “Doses & Mimosas,” sparking a full-on singalong that filled the venue.

It was a fitting end to a night that celebrated both the band’s growth and the enduring power of the song that started it all.

Punk In The Park cancels 2026 road shows amid controversy

Published

on

Amid the ongoing stream of controversy relating to Brew Ha Ha Productions’ financial contributions to the Trump administration, Punk In The Park has officially cancelled their 2026 road shows. This came after bands spoke out against the fest dropping off of the dates, including The Adicts who dropped off today shortly before the cancellation. You also had the Dead Kennedys stating they were against what the fest stood for but wouldn’t cancel because it wasn’t fair to fans.

A statement from Punk in the Park organizers was posted on their social media :

“It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the Punk in the Park Road Show events scheduled for 2026.

“These shows were something we truly believed in, and we know how much they meant to many of you. Unfortunately, the current climate surrounding the events has created challenges that make it impossible for us to move forward in a way that delivers the experience our fans, artists, and partners deserve.

“This is incredibly disappointing for everyone involved. Our goal as always been to bring people together through music, community, and shared passion – and it’s painful when circumstances prevent that from happening.

“All ticket holders will receive full refunds automatically at their original point of purchase within the next week. No action is required.

“We want to sincerely thank the fans who supported us, the bands who stood with us, and the crews who worked hard behind the scenes. Your belief in these events has meant more than you know.

“We hope this is not the end of Punk in the Park, but rather a pause while we regroup and look toward the future.”
