By: Morgan Holzer

Seahaven, the indie band formed in 2009 in Torrance, California, first made their mark with Winter Forever in 2011, followed by Reverie Lagoon: Music for Escapism Only in 2014. The band went through what they refer to as a “dark period” for a few years until they released their most recent album, Halo of Hurt, under their new label.

To commemorate 15 years of Winter Forever, Seahaven has announced an 11-date tour where they’ll perform the album in full for the first time. The tour begins in January and includes special guests Commoner* and Flycatcher+. Fans can expect a nostalgic night and a rare chance to revisit the songs that helped define Seahaven’s sound.

Hawthorne Heights announce 20th anniversary tour for ‘If Only You Were Lonely’

Published

on

Emo heavyweights Hawthorne Heights will be kicking 2026 off with a band celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘If Only You Were Lonely’ on tour. Along for the ride are chaotic metalcore act Letlive and goth rockers Creeper. The tour’s first leg kicks off on March 5th in Lexington, with stops to follow in: Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, and more.

Tickets, including VIP packages, will be available on Friday, October 31 at 10am local time here:https://hawthorneheights.com/

The best thing about looking back on the last 20 years is that you can do it without the fear of the past, but with the reverence that comes with the time that has actually passed,” shares front man JT Woodruff. I feel like all of the noise of that time period was drowned out by the panic and stress that we were living under, when creating If Only You Were Lonely. The pressure of creating a 2nd album was almost too much to enjoy the magic we were creating, or even thinking about it as magic at all. While the fans never saw anything going on behind the scenes, If Only You Were Lonely is a true tale of triumph and tragedy that changed our lives forever. It has all the haunting hallmarks of a fairy tale and horror movie, but rolled into a tightly wound package of true life chaos. During all of that chaos, we never gave up hope, which is why we are happy to finally do a tour of this magnitude, to show our fans that life is an experience that will challenge every single emotion that you are capable of.”

He continues: “That is how we are approaching the LONELY WORLD TOUR. We will be playing the entire album, with a career spanning setlist, that is a full-on rollercoaster ride designed to make you forget what you are going through alone, while hopping in the car so we can all go through it TOGETHER. Whether you are coming for a night of everlasting nostalgia, or prepared to exercise some lifelong demons, you will be in a room full of people who are ready to share this experience as life is supposed to be shared. TOGETHER.”

Not for Radio — María Zardoya’s New World

Published

on

By: Morgan Holzer

María Zardoya, from indie pop band The Marías, debuts her solo project Not for Radio with the release of her album Melt on October 10. The record blends the dreamy, cinematic sound fans know from The Marías with her own personal twist, mixing gothic, whimsical, and romantic tones. Zardoya describes the project as “her alternate reality,” inviting listeners to reconnect with themselves and the natural world.

In a Vogue interview with Conçetta Ciarlo, María shared that The Marías has always been a 50/50 collaboration between her and bandmate Josh Conway, but with Not for Radio, she wanted full creative control. To make that happen, she teamed up with songwriter Sam Evian and spent three weeks in upstate New York during the dead of winter, a contrast to her usual Los Angeles surroundings.

A woman wearing a light blue dress is reclining against a tree branch amidst dark foliage, creating a whimsical and dreamlike atmosphere.

The visuals for Melt are just as intentional as the music. Zardoya has collaborated with an impressive group of creatives, including visual artist Jaxon Whittington, whose photography carries a dreamy, gothic feel that perfectly complements the album’s atmosphere.

She has also hinted at the possibility of a tour on social media, asking fans if she should take Not for Radio on the road.

Judging by the excitement online, listeners are excited for what is to come.

The Twilight Sad team up with The Cure’s Robert Smith for new single ‘Waiting For The Right Call’

Published

on

The Twilight Sad are back with a new song this time teaming up with one of musics most legendary singers in the form of The Cure’s Robert Smith. The single is out now via Rock Action Records, the track is an impassioned autobiographical epic detailing a phone call you never want to arrive.

Commentating on the track, singer and lyricist James Graham says: “WAITING FOR THE PHONE CALL is about grief, love, and mental illness. These things took over my life and I became ill. I lost the person most important to me in one of the cruellest ways. I’ve always used writing as a method of processing and coping with my emotions. My emotions became a problem and I couldn’t control them. Writing music with Andy… especially the past seven years had been both the escape and the opportunity to process and try and make sense of life. We’ve all been waiting on a phone call that can change our lives at some point. This unfortunately focuses on a phone call that you never want to have.”

Avoid announces new EP, drops new single ‘Sour Apple’

Published

on

Avoid has announced ‘Creature of Habit‘ their new EP will be dropping Nov. 14th. This follows the bands latest two singles which are on the EP and showcases the bands latest single ‘Sour Apple’. Fans can catch the band on tour this November with Belmont.

The EP arrives via UNFD. Pre-order it here.

“We’re so stoked to release our new track ‘Sour Apple,'” says vocalist Benny Scholl. “What’s funny is this name initially came up just as a demo name. ’cause there was a Sour Apple-flavored vape in the room. We worked out the instrumentals, and then when we finished the vocals and the lyrics, we were trying to come up with what the song will be called. The song is about reflecting on the past and letting go, but also being able to be upset when things haven’t always gone your way. In a way, kind of being a ‘Sour Apple’ about things sometimes and we realized that the name ended up representing the song perfectly.”
