Ice Nine Kills and Mckenna Grace enter the Scream world with new single ‘Twisting The Knife’

Published

on

Ice Nine Kills have finally met Ghostface with their latest song ‘Twisting The Knife’ which is featured on the Scream 7 soundtrack. The band has also released a music video to accompany it bringing their known production value with it along with Mckenna Grace who stars in the upcoming Scream film.

Ice Nine Kills mastermind Spencer Charnas shares:

“Twisting the Knife is our tribute to Wes Craven and the Scream franchise, which means so much to us. Scream is baked into the DNA of who I am and of Ice Nine Kills—my love of horror, comedy, and the collision between the two. I was already obsessed with Halloween and Friday the 13th, but Scream was the first I saw in theaters. Hearing the killer talk about horror movies, in that distinctively pop-culture savvy Kevin Williamson way, blew my mind.

In recent years, we’ve gotten to know and work with Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Jamie Kennedy, Lee Waddell, and others in different capacities. We announced the collaboration with Scream 7 at Wembley Arena, with Ghostface and Rose McGowan, which was surreal in itself.

When we learned that Mckenna Grace is a fan of our band, it made perfect sense to invite her to sing. She recorded her part in my home studio, in the same room where I keep my screen-used Scream knife prop, one of the four rubber knives made for the first movie.

Marco Beltrami’s Scream scores are just as influential to me as any other component of the films. In our song, there are echoes of the moody atmospheres he’s created, with our own INK twist.”

Mckenna Grace adds

“Making this song was such a special experience for me- I am such a big INK fan and it was such an amazing opportunity to be able to play with a different style of music. I am so inspired by Amy Lee’s vocals and we all wanted to channel Scream and Sydney’s story as best as we could. Spencer and the guys were so much fun to collaborate with and I’m so thankful to Kevin Williamson.”The accompanying music video continues Ice Nine Kills’ signature horror-cinema homage, blending performance with a post-video narrative short that continues the ever-expanding INKverse lore.

The voice of Ghostface himself, Roger L. Jackson, reprises his iconic role. The story picks up directly from 2025’s “The Laugh Track,”, which saw Matthew Lillard playing himself. This installment escalates the meta-horror further, with David Arquette (as himself), alongside Johnny Brennan, creator of The Jerky Boys, as Francis Rizzowitz.

Bearings release video for title track ‘Comfort Company’ from their latest album

Published

on

Pop punkers Bearings have released a video for the title track of their latest album ‘Comfort Company’. Along with it they’ve also announced a small run of Canadian shows next month to support the records release.

“We wanted to create a video that captured the aesthetic of our record, and showed off how much fun we can have as a group. Logan Greene helped bring that to life, and it ended up being one of our favourite videos we have done. The songs energy is captured wonderfully through the visuals. Putting this out makes us even more excited to play this song live at our upcoming shows this March!” says Collin Hanes

ALBUM RELEASE SHOWS with support from Rarity and Second Harbour.

March 5 – Toronto, ON @ Dance Cave
March 6 – Ottawa, ON @ Club Saw
March 7 – Montreal, QC @ Newspeak

Tickets on sale now

“Comfort Company is for us the record that feels like coming back home. Some songs we wrote at a cottage together, others came from a basement. They all started somewhere honest and ended up back at the studio where we did our first album in the East End of Toronto. This album was working on music all day, walking to the beer store, then heading back to the windowless studio to relax before reading Kurt Vonnegut and eventually falling asleep on an air mattress. As we worked out what we wanted it to sound like we found ourselves wanting to make music that felt natural to us, something that we knew we’d connect with and be able to spill out on stage when the time came to perform it.” said, Doug Cousins.

Arankai drops new song ‘Choke’

Published

on

Rising rock artist Arankai has released a new single ‘Choke’. Fans can also catch him on tour this spring on his first headlining tour across the US.

After signing with Hopeless Records last year and amassing over 2.5 million streams this new song continues to show his growth as an artist with an upward trend.

He released his debut album ‘A Portrait of Red’ last year with standout tracks including ‘Contortionist’, ‘Conquer (Feat. Josh Mowery of Catch Your Breath)’, and viral fan favorite, ‘Dead Throne’. Now, Arankai is kicking off his next chapter with the leading single, ‘Choke’.

ARANKAI SHARES:
“CHOKE addresses the one-sided relationship, yearning for mutual love and respect. In our world where there is division, disunity and conflict I think CHOKE reflects the current climate while also being a metaphor for personal relationships – which is a topic I cover frequently in my music. I wanted a raw, visceral sound for this song: the guitar leads almost sound like they’re begging, the rhythms sound so saturated that the distortion practically goes in and out of phase. This plaintiff, desperate instrumentation is what I needed to express this song properly, and it sets the tone for this next record: heavy, saturated and aggressive.

I didn’t know where exactly I was going to start for this new series of songs – I just knew I needed something different, something raw and visceral that sounded like the lyrics I was writing. So we went back to the roots of the bands that inspired me when I first got into rock music: Switchfoot, Deftones, 10 Years, Sevendust, Korn, and we came up with a sound somewhere between playing your guitar in a garage with your friends, and the polished tones people expect from a well produced record. And that’s how we came up with CHOKE, and this sets the precedent for the new era of Arankai.”

At its core, The A.R.T. Project is about bringing people together through music and creativity during divided times. Built on Rise Against’s long-held belief that music is a collective experience, the initiative invites fans into the band’s creative process to celebrate the community that has grown alongside them for over 25 years.

The short-form, sit-down conversation with the band was filmed on-site during an immersive art activation in Los Angeles to kick off the campaign. On that day, Rise Against invited dozens of dedicated fans to help shape a new visual world for Ricochet by creating original posters to serve as the backdrop in their new music videos. As the band performed standout tracks off the album, fans were featured alongside them and their artwork that was inspired by the record’s lyrics, themes, and emotional urgency.

The A.R.T. Project launch marks the beginning of a series of new music videos from Ricochet rolling out in the coming weeks, ahead of the band’s upcoming headlining spring tour. Rise Against will kick off their headlining North American Tour on March 3 in Providence, RI with special guest Destroy Boys. They will be bringing the band’s signature sound and socially conscious music to stages across North America, including Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Madison, Spokane, and more.
