On the warm summer evening of July 27, 2024, the small town of Moundsville, West Virginia, came alive with the sound of country music as the Marshall County Fair played host to country artist Mark Wills. Known for his string of hits in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Wills is still a beloved country artist, with lasting appeal and a timeless quality to his brand of 90’s country.
The Marshall County Fairgrounds hasn’t changed since I first started going back in the early 1980’s. Settled just out of the city limits of Moundsville, West Virginia, the fairgrounds has a rustic/retro charm that makes it the perfect match for some real country music. If you throw in the screams from the carnival rides, and the aroma of funnel cakes and corn dogs in the air, it’s like walking into a scene from 30 years ago.
Or more to the point, 28 years ago, which is when Mark Wills released Jacob’s Ladder, the first single of his career. It only be fitting that he kick off his 90 minute set, with the same song, on this evening. The setlist for the evening was a well-balanced mix of Mark Wills’ greatest hits, fan favorites, and a few surprises. Wills touched on every single he ever had at country radio. High, Low and In Between, I Do Cherish You, and Wish You Were Here, had the crowd singing along with every word.
Touching on influences and songs that he loved Wills delivered a cover of the Dan Seals hit, Everything That Glitters and a tribute to the late Joe Diffie with a medley of Pick Up Man and Honky Tonk Attitude.
One of the standout moments of the night was when a fan requested an album cut of Wills’ called Like There’s No Yesterday. Out of all of his songs, this is probably the one seen and heard by more people around the world. There is a video on youtube that has 45 MILLION views, of Wills sneaking into a wedding and performing this song for the couple’s first dance. The couple requesting the song in Moundsville used it for their first dance too. Prefacing the attempt by stating they had not done the song live in years, Wills and his band nailed the song like it was in the setlist every night. Icing on the cake was Wills asking the couple to re enact their first dance, at the foot of the concrete slab stage, and then posing for pictures with them.
The most heart wrenching song of any Mark Wills performance is Don’t Laugh at Me, a song that speaks to themes of empathy and to stop bullying resonated deeply with the audience. Wills explained how many different people have told him stories how the song has affected their lives and then delivered the song with a heartfelt sincerity that brought many in the crowd to tears.
Rounding out the night was 19 Somethin’, a nostalgic song that takes listeners through the milestones and memories of growing up in the 1970s and 1980s. The first few notes had the crowd on their feet, singing the song’s catchy melody and lyrics and rounded out the evening on a high note. To add a bonus to his final bows, Wills brought former Army POW, and West Virginia native, Jessica Lynch out to wave to the crowd. It was the icing on the cake to an evening that will long be remembered in Moundsville, West Virginia.

Sepultura have dropped a new song ‘Beyond The Dream’, which is coming from the bands upcoming farewell EP. ‘The Cloud of Unknowing‘ will release April 24th and be the final music released from the legendary group.
SEPULTURA commented,
“Beyond the Dream” emerges as one of the most emblematic moments of Sepultura’s final chapter, serving as a poetic reflection of a journey shaped by decades of albums, tours, and life on the road.
This previously unreleased composition fulfills a long-standing desire of the band to explore the ballad format, blending Sepultura’s identity with the melodic sensitivity of renowned collaborators. To bring this project to life, Sepultura enlisted the essential collaboration of Sérgio Britto and Tony Bellotto of Titãs—musicians who share a long history with the band and are widely recognized as specialists in the genre, as well as composers of classics such as “Polícia.”
The result of a direct partnership between members of Sepultura and Titãs, the song celebrates the connection between artists who share the stage and a deep passion for creation. The outcome is a piece that brings great satisfaction to everyone involved, establishing itself as both an emotional and historical milestone featured on the band’s final EP, released in this very year that marks Sepultura’s official farewell.”

August Burns Red releases new song ‘The Nameless’, announces new album

March 30, 2026
Metalcore vets August Burns Red are back with a new song with ‘The Nameless’. Only continuing to prove why they are one of the genres best it comes with the news of a new album as well. ‘Season Of Surrender’ will drop June 5th on Fearless Records.
“The Nameless is a hard-hitting, heavy bruiser that doesn’t let up for one moment,” states Davidson. “It combines classic ABR elements with dark moody technical rhythms, and fast paced vocals to keep the intensity up for the full three minutes of the track. To me it showcases our roots of where we’ve come from, and the future path of where we’re heading.”
Luhrs follows, “Lyrically, The Nameless is a song about not wasting your life away for the sake of acceptance and comfortability. Sometimes it takes detaching from what you’ve been told, or from the beliefs you are no longer aligned with, in order to face your own weaknesses. In doing so you can break free to live a life you are proud of.”
Season of Surrender features guest appearances from The Devil Wears Prada‘s Mike Hranica, Polaris‘ Jamie Hails, and Make Them Suffer.

Ringworm’s James “Human Furnace” Bulloch has GoFundMe launched after he undergoes surgery
Published
5 days agoon
March 30, 2026
James “Human Furnace” Bulloch, a legendary figure in heavy music, has undergone surgery that will keep him away from both performing live and doing his work as a tattoo artist for the unforeseen future. In turn fellow legends Dwid from Integrity and Florida Frank from Hatebreed have set up a GoFundMe to help James out during this time.
From the GoFundMe :
James “Human Furnace” Bulloch is a talented tattoo artist and, as many of you know, the singer for Ringworm and Gluttons. Recently, James had to undergo surgery, which has put his life and career on hold. As a result, he is unable to work at the tattoo shop for at least a month, and it will be several months before he can return to performing with his bands. This sudden change has created a lot of uncertainty and stress, both emotionally and financially.
During this recovery period, the bills don’t stop coming. Medical expenses are adding up, and without his regular income from tattooing and performing, it’s tough to keep up with everyday living costs. We (Frank and Dwid) started this fundraiser to help ease that burden, so James can focus on healing without the added worry of how to pay for essentials.
Thanks in advance to everyone who supports James during this challenging time. Every bit of help means the world and brings him one step closer to getting back to doing what he does best—creating art and music for the community.
