A cool Friday night in Rochester Hills, Michigan set the stage for Lee Brice, as his What You Know About That tour rolled into Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. The country star returned to Michigan for the first time since 2022, and the performance more than lived up to expectations. With opening support from his brother Lewis Brice and rising country artist Jackson Dean, there was no better place to be on a fall evening.

Brice kicked off the set with one of his biggest hits, “Hard to Love,” instantly met with cheers and enthusiastic singalongs from the crowd. He kept the energy high with “Parking Lot Party,” which included a playful fan interaction game he called “Repeat After Lee.” Between songs, Brice even gave a nod to Michigan native Kid Rock, drawing loud cheers from the Metro Detroit audience.

The setlist offered a mix of tempos and moods, ranging from slower ballads like “Memory I Don’t Mess With” and “Boy” to rowdier moments, including “Upper Middle Class White Trash.” Before launching into the latter, Brice paused to encourage fans to keep the lyrics clean, reminding them to swap in “chuck it” for the obvious alternative. Unsurprisingly, many in the crowd didn’t follow his advice, opting for the more rebellious version instead.

Family played a role in the evening as well, with Lewis Brice joining his brother onstage for “Said No Country Boy Ever.” The night also included fan favorites like “Love Like Crazy,” “When the Kingdom Comes,” and even “Crazy Girl,” a song Brice wrote but ultimately gave to Eli Young Band to record.

One of the most memorable moments came when Brice took a seat at the piano under soft white lights for a performance of his signature song, “I Don’t Dance.” The heartfelt song, often heard at weddings, turned the amphitheater into a sea of slow-dancing couples.

To close the night, Brice delivered a powerful run of “I Drive Your Truck,” “Soul,” and “Rumor.” The crowd wasn’t ready to call it quits, and Brice gave in with an encore of “One of Them Girls,” sending fans home with the perfect ending to a memorable evening.

Lee Brice continues with the ‘What You Know About That’ tour, with nine more stops across the U.S.
