Spiritbox continues their takeover of heavy music with the news that the band for the 3rd year in a row has been nominated for a Grammy. The band have been nominated for Best Metal Performance for their track “Soft Spine.” Previous nominations were for 2024’s “Jaded” and 2025’s “Cellar Door.”

Spiritbox will hit the road this fall for part two of their North American headline tour, produced by Live Nation, with support from Periphery and Honey Revenge. Tour kicks off November 12 in Ontario, Canada, tickets are available at spiritbox.com.

Lamb Of God have released a live video for their latest single ‘Sepsis’. Taken during the bands performance at this years Aftershow Festival ‘Sepsis’ marks the first new music from the band since 2022.

Directed by Sam Shapiro and Kevin Garcia, the performance took place just one day after the song’s release. Before launching into the three-and-a-half-minute track, Randy Blythe introduced it, saying, “This song is about a national sickness,” as John Campbell, Mark Morton, Willie Adler, and Art Cruz, joined in as the crowd erupted.

Earlier this week, Lamb of God announced the return of their annual Headbangers Boat cruise. The 2026 edition features the GRAMMY® Award-nominated band with an assortment of special guests, including Zakk Sabbath, The Dillinger Escape Plan, In Flames, GWAR, The Haunted, D.R.I., 200 Stab Wounds, X-Cops, Mark Morton, and more to be announced soon. Sleep Token has hit another milestone with the news that the band has now been nominated for two Grammys. The band joins alongside the likes of Turnstile, Dream Theatre, and Ghost for Grammys in Metal this year.

The Recording Academy has recognized Sleep Token with:

Alongside Sleep Token’s two nominations, II – the band’s drummer – also earns a GRAMMY® nomination for his featured performance on Yungblud’s “Changes (Live From Villa Park).”

Gorillaz have dropped their third single from their upcoming album ‘The Mountain’ this time teaming up with IDLES. The record features an extraordinary list of artists and collaborators including: Ajay Prasanna, Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash, Anoushka Shankar, Asha Bhosle, Asha Puthli, Bizarrap, Black Thought, Gruff Rhys, IDLES, Jalen Ngonda, Johnny Marr, Kara Jackson, Omar Souleyman, Paul Simonon, Sparks, Trueno and Yasiin Bey; as well as the voices of friends and collaborators who have gone before us, including Bobby Womack, Dave Jolicoeur, Dennis Hopper, Mark E Smith, Proof and Tony Allen.

Written by Damon Albarn and Joe Talbot and recorded in London, Devon and Mumbai, with Ajay Prasanna on bansuri and percussion by Viraj Acharya, “The God of Lying” sees the IDLES frontman bring his maverick charisma to a dub-style vocal that delivers a list of questions and scant consolation to tap into the album’s underlying themes of societal and political unease.

Jimmy Eat World have announced that their previously digital only singles will be released on vinyl in the new ‘Something(s) Loud’ EP along with their newest single ‘Failure’. Being a band that still loves physical media this marks the band making their release official now for fans to get their hands on.

The EP will include “Something Loud,”“Place Your Debts,” and a cover of Crooked Fingers’ “Call to Love” (featuring Bethany Cosentino), along with an acoustic version of “Something Loud” and a TW Walsh remix of “Place Your Debts.” 

Rounding out the EP is a never-before-released track, “Failure,” (originally recorded in 2019 for the Surviving sessions — co-produced by Jimmy Eat World and Justin Meldal Johnsen and engineered/mixed by the band Failure’s co-founder and vocalist, Ken Andrews.

Reflecting on the songs that ultimately made it onto the EP, Jim Adkins explains, “By 2021, it felt like distancing restrictions were finally easing and we could get back on the road. Our Surviving album had barely been released before we were performing live again and reconnecting with fans. Coming out of the pandemic, it didn’t feel right to tour without offering something more, so we took the chance to share a few more tracks we’d been working on. At the time, it seemed like listeners were gravitating toward playlists rather than full albums, so we decided to meet them where they were.”
