Track-by-Track: Breaking Down Miley’s Bold New Album Something Beautiful
Miley’s back and she’s bringing the vibes.
Her brand-new album Something Beautiful just dropped, and let’s just say… it’s a journey. Emotional, experimental, a little weird in all the best ways. This one really shows off just how far Miley’s come since her Bangerz days. And if that’s not enough? There’s a whole visual film to go with it, hitting select theaters for one night only on June 12.
So let’s get into it track-by-track.
The Tracklist And Our First Impressions
- Prelude
A dreamy little intro. Think: candlelight, headphones, and zoning out. Sets the tone for what’s coming. - Something Beautiful
The title track starts slow, then flips into this epic rock moment. It’s artsy, dramatic, and totally Miley. - End of the World
Disco’s not dead, and neither is Miley’s love for dancing through the chaos. Co-written with members of Alvvays, this one’s surprisingly fun for a song about the apocalypse. - More to Lose
A cinematic ballad that feels like the closing credits of a heartbreak movie. Soft strings, honest lyrics, very raw. - Walk of Fame (feat. Brittany Howard)
Brittany Howard jumps in for this gritty, glam take on life in the spotlight. Major powerhouse energy! - Easy Lover
An oldie reworked from her Plastic Hearts era. Now it’s sleeker, sadder, and somehow more confident. - Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved (feat. Naomi Campbell)
Yes, that Naomi Campbell. It’s got some seriously cool production. Weird, wonderful, and addictive.
8. Reborn
This one has a big “phoenix rising from the ashes” energy. It builds slowly and then just soars.
9. Interlude I
A quick breather. Pretty instrumental that gives you a minute to process.
10. Shadow Work
Deep and a little dark. It’s all about facing your inner stuff in the best way.
11. Interlude II
Another short musical moment that feels like turning a page in a journal. Probably in my top 3 tracks honestly.
12. Healing Light
This one’s like a warm hug. Calming, hopeful, and perfect for a quiet night in.
13. Finale: Something Beautiful (Reprise)
A stripped-down revisit of the title track. It ties everything together in a soft, sweet, and satisfying way.
People are already talking, and the early reviews are mostly full of love. The New York Post called the album a confident and emotional shift from Miley’s last chapter, comparing it to the cooler, wiser older sister to Flowers. The Times praised how bold and experimental she’s gotten, especially when it comes to production and themes. Not everyone’s completely sold though. The Guardian liked the sound but felt the whole “psychedelic healing journey” angle was a bit overhyped. (I’ll let you decide.)
Now, if you’re the kind of fan who loves a visual moment, you’re going to want to catch the Something Beautiful film. It’s not just a long music video, it’s a full-on art piece. Miley co-directed it herself, and from what we’ve seen in music videos so far, it leans more pop opera than playlist aesthetic. It premieres June 6 at the Tribeca Festival and then hits select theaters for one night only on June 12 in the U.S. and Canada. International screenings are coming June 27, so global fans, stay tuned.
Something Beautiful is a mood. It’s not chasing hits, but instead doing its own thing. And in 2025, that kind of creative risk feels refreshing. Whether you vibe with every track or not, it’s hard not to admire Miley’s guts for putting it all out there.
Put on your headphones, clear your calendar for June 12, and get ready to feel some big feelings.
