Rose Stone and the 1st Family of Funk has announced a rare live show in 2026 at the Des Plaines Theater in Des Plaines, IL. Just outside of Chicago in the suburbs this will be a must see show for fans old and new.
The show will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026. This performance marks a dynamic continuation of one of music’s most important legacies and celebrates an era that forever transformed the sound and spirit of American culture.
Rose Stone, a founding and definitive member of Sly and the Family Stone, returns to the stage with a commanding voice, spiritual depth, and the same electrifying authenticity that made her an essential force in one of the most influential bands of all time. As the original female voice behind era-defining hits including “Everyday People,” “I Want to Take You Higher,” and “Family Affair,” Rose helped shape not only the sound of a generation but also the soul of the movement that came with it.
The 1st Family of Funk also features significant members of the Stone musical lineage. Vet Stone, the celebrated vocalist of Little Sister and an original member of Sly and the Family Stone, brings her powerful voice and magnetic presence to the stage. Lisa Stone, daughter of Rose Stone and acclaimed vocalist with international touring experience including performances with Elton John, completes the vocal powerhouse of the group.
Rose Stone is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Her voice remains a beacon of truth, joy, resilience, and spiritual conviction. The 1st Family of Funk continues this tradition with a performance that is both a celebration and a living history.
