Mosh Pit Wedding in Pittsburgh

It happened in a mosh pit at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE this week.  Death metal legends Cannibal Corpse were playing on stage while Chris and Erica Curtis got married in the middle of the mosh pit on the floor.   As the band played Unleashing the Bloodthirsty, a protective circle formed around the pair as they exchanged vows. A friend of theirs, Michael “Doc” Daugherty wrote the nuptials, which included to be your partner in metal, horror, trust, honor, and love.

The couple was introduced by Erica’s sister and had been trying to plan a wedding.  When the traditional route ended up in dead ends, and a simple justice of the peace not to their liking, they couldn’t pass up doing it at a show with three of their favorite bands….Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, and Meshuggah.

The wedding was even a Facebook event called Corrupted Nuptials.  The plan was spread throughout the audience and the mosh pit, and everyone nearby went along with the plan. You can see the coverage from someone’s cell phone below.
