Pelican are teaming up with Geoff Rickly of Thursday for their newest track ‘Cascading Crescent’ which is out now. This comes from the bands newly announced EP Ascending which drops Jan. 23rd.
Serving as both an extension of and companion to this year’s Flickering Resonance, the EP gathers rare and previously unavailable material that showcases the band’s revitalised founding lineup of guitarists Laurent Schroeder-Lebec and Trevor Shelley de Brauwwith brothers Bryan and Larry Herweg at a moment of renewed creative vigor.
In celebration of the album and the EP, Laurent from Pelican and Will Killingsworth from Dead Air Studios teamed to create a custom guitar pedal inspired by the sound of the band’s recent material. The result is Resonance, a pedal whose reverb interacts with users’ playing style and resonates in a variety of unique fashions, varying from light echo to lush soundscapes to self-oscillating frenzy. The pedal, limited edition colour vinyl variants, and new bespoke merch designs are available as part of the EP pre-order – find here.
In a very ironic moment to close out 2025 Keith Buckley (Many Eyes, ex Every Time I Die) joined The Dillinger Escape Plan on stage in LA for a cover of Nine Inch Nails ‘Wish’. He also closed out their set alongside vocalist Dimitri Minakakis for their final song ‘43% Burnt’.
While Keith has performed the song live with TDEP in the past the irony of the situation is after a split which saw 4/5 members of Every Time I Die side against Keith Buckley, 3 of the members formed Better Lovers.
Years ago as well The Dillinger Escape Plan had a rather public break up which saw the band end and TDEP guitarist Ben Weinman go against long time vocalist Greg Puciato in multiple posts.
Greg would later form Better Lovers alongside the ex ETID members.
Two piece act Girl Tones are a band that everyone needs to listen to. The band has released their latest track ‘Leave This City’ with a video to accompany it. This sees the band now end 2025 after having a massive year full of festival debuts and major tours.
The duo shared that, “’Leave the City’ is about growing pains, it plays on the idea of loving where you are from, but feeling out of place. Navigating between pain and nostalgia in a place that you simultaneously love and hate.”

Zero 9:36 continues blending genres and it showed with his latest single ‘System’ which now has a video out to accompany it. The song comes from his latest EP ‘They Were Always Here’ which is out now.

Yungblud has dropped an acoustic version of his Grammy nominated hit ‘Zombie’. This comes as he will be taking on his biggest tour next spring which is 5+ months away from starting and completely sold out.
The heart-wrenching ballad is widely regarded as one of his most profound releases to date, written for his late grandmother who died from alcoholism and showcasing a striking new depth in his songwriting. The new version of the track is accompanied by an intimate music video, directed by Jesse Jo Stark.
Speaking about the track, Yungblud explained, “The song was written initially about my grandmother going through serious injury and trauma, leading her to become a different person to who she was before. It’s about the feeling of deterioration and ugliness; shutting out the world and the people we love out of the fear of becoming a burden or an embarrassment.”
