Lady Gaga is back with her latest album “Mayhem” and one that sits her back at the top of the pop throne. Mixing elements of her last few albums intertwined with the raw, primal energy that fueled her early career, this is Gaga at top form.

A record that feels both nostalgic and extremely modern. It’s a statement to her ability to combine her vastly different musical past into a thrilling new sound.”Mayhem” is a deliberate fusion of genres, drawing from synth-pop, disco, dance-pop, and industrial influences. It changes song to song and feels unique and fresh without every trying to hard to be different.

While the album as a whole is fantastic and a master course that artists will look to. Tracks like “Disease,” “Abracadabra,” and the Bruno Mars collaboration “Die with a Smile” stand out as instantly memorable.

“Mayhem” shows the pop diva at her best. In a time where she stands out even more different than the other reigning heads of the genre, Gaga proves that when she does come around she makes it worth the wait.
