Chris Garza (Suicide Silence) announces indefinite hiatus from the band

Published

on

Chris Garza, co-founding member, of deathcore OGs Suicide Silence has officially announced hes stepped away from the band for an indefinite hiatus. After missing some recent shows he posted today giving fans an update on what is going on. Garza also hosts the popular ‘Garza’ podcast which is now 200+ episodes deep.

Garza posted that after more than two decades of nonstop focus on the band, he’s taking time to reset. He isn’t the first to step away either for some time as Guitarist Mark Heylmun did the same in 2018.

“What’s up everyone,

As some of you have noticed, I’ve missed the last couple Suicide Silence shows. It’s because I’m on a hiatus from the band. SuSi has been on my brain every day since 2002 with no break. Everything is fine. I just need to press the reset button so I can make the right decisions in the near future. As the Terminator said. I’ll be back. –Garza”

Ice Spice teams up with Tokischa for new single ‘Thootie’

Published

on

4 time Grammy nominated and self proclaimed ‘Princess Of New York’ Ice Spice is back with a new song and making waves with it. Marking the singers first time speaking Spanish on a track she has teamed up with fellow Spanish artist Tokishcha for ‘Thootie’.

The video was shot in the Dominican Republic, authentically capturing the colorful, vibrant, upbeat energy and culture of the island.

When asked about the track Ice stated,”This was a fun record for me. It’s the first-time people are actually hearing me speak or rap in Spanish and it was fun to show another side of who I am, and it’s even more special that I got to do it with Toki. We went to the Dominican Republic to shoot the video last month and it was a vibe. I definitely felt at home.”

“I’m so happy we finally got to make a song. It’s been a while since we’ve wanted to. When she sent me ‘Thootie’ it was instant. I gotta give it to the producers, they did a great job with the beat, not everyone who didn’t grow up in the DR can make a dembow hot like that. I loved working with Ice, she’s a sweetheart and a genuinely fun girl. I’m so proud of the video, and her coming to the DR after so long was very special to honor and respect the ‘bajo mundo culture’” says Tokischa.
