Film Review : 825 Forest Road (2025)

After going through the Hell House LLC I decided to watch a new Shudder release unknowing that it was by the same guy. 825 Forest Road, like Hell House LLC, has the means to be great but falls so short.

We follow a family of 3 that moves to a new house in a small town and starts noticing weird things occurring like stuff being moved around and we soon find out the town has a dark secret with a haunting past.

The twist here is that the film is broken up in parts with each character getting their story told as it unfolds from what we see. Its an interesting point until you realize that means we get the same boring scenes 3 different ways which ends up feeling like we are just killing time vs laying out a good story.

Our plot though involving knowing that the town knows about this and sees the haunting but just ignores it and has covered it all up with changing roads and info works. Its a cool idea here that just never gets fleshed out really because we get moved back into someone elses view point to see things yet again.

By the end the plot twist doesn’t really work though and we’ve been dragged along a mostly boring time that drags on. The bad ghost jump scare moments don’t usually work and instead we are left with an idea of what could have been.
